What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavior Technician/RBT position at Beyond Behavior ABA Services?
Overview:
- A Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)/Behavior Tech at Beyond Behavior provides ABA services to individuals with autism.
- Behavior Technicians are responsible for implementing Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) based programs under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst® (BCBA®, BCBA-D) or a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst® (BCaBA®)
- $17-$21 per hour depending on experience and education
Responsibilities:
- Maintain HIPAA and all necessary confidentiality standards.
- Must be able to independently implement programs without constant supervision.
- Attend monthly staff meetings and additional meetings as needed.
- Communicate professionally with employees, clients, and the general public.
- Maintain professional ethics and behaviors with employees, clients and the general public as outlined in the BACB Code of Ethical Behavior.
- Maintain a strict level of employee/supervisor confidentiality.
- Provide ABA services in-clinic and/or in-home as determined by the supervising BCBA.
- Full-time Behavior Technicians are scheduled for 32-40 hours per week, with 28 average billable hours per week.
- Must give one month notice when resigning.
- All other duties as assigned by your direct supervisor.
Requirements:
- Must have a high school diploma, a college degree in a social work, psychology or related field strongly preferred
- Have RBT certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) or ability to obtain within one month of employment. (on-site, paid training is offered in order to obtain RBT certification)
- Ability to multitask and prioritize work in an organized manner to meet treatment requirements
- Ability to communicate and engage in a professional, timely and respectful manner
- Strong professional and ethical business presentation and performance
- Provide one-one instruction consistent with best practice in ABA
- Follow behavior reduction and behavioral skill acquisition protocols
- Collect accurate, valid and reliable data and record data based on client behavior
- Assist BCBAs and BCaBAs with behavior reduction assessments and skills acquisition
- Assist BCBAs and BCaBAs in the preparation of client instructional materials
- Implement Behavior Intervention Plans, and Skill Acquisition Plans that are determined by the supervising BCBA
- Arrive on time to all scheduled appointments
- Maintain legible up to date records. This includes, but is not limited to the following: daily session notes, program data, and behavior data
- RBTs must also be committed to ongoing training and development, organizational policies and procedures, weekly team meetings, and client confidentiality
- Computer competency (Google Workspace and use of treatment-specific software).
- Must have the ability to appropriately respond to physically and emotionally challenging behavior problems, and other emergency situations. This includes the physical ability to become trained in the implementation of crisis response, QBS Safety Care, and de-escalation procedures
- Communicate with all members of the team, with the goal of improving services and maintaining procedural integrity
- Precisely follow procedures and instructions, both written and spoken.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude and demeanor
- ABA experience and education are not required but encouraged, and will be considered for upward movement in the company
- May require transportation of clients within 15 min of clinic location
- Ability to raise or lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, sit and/or move quickly
- Ability to pass a background check
- Must be reliable, punctual, and professional
- Must have a personal means of transportation

This is a Part-Time building to Full-Time position. Once Full-Time, employee will work 40 hours/week
