Job Requirements:
The art director is a visual storyteller on the Beyond creative team. We are seeking a skilled, seasoned naturally creative individual to continue to elevate our design and visual thinking. This role requires a versatile creative who is as comfortable with brand identity, web design and video development. The art director must have the ability to excel working both independently and in collaboration with other creatives, as well as with the account, social and event teams. The Art Director is a hands-on role, requiring deep conceptual skills and superior design with the craftsmanship to bring ideas to life.
Responsibilities:
- Idea generation – participating and leading teams in brainstorming and capturing big ideas that address the needs of the brief
- Art Direction – visual approach, mood boards, layout, photography, mockups, renders
- Partner with designers, copywriters, and producers to actualize a vision
- Desire to understand the nuances of event production; both from an art direction perspective and in general
- Passion for strategy, insights, and innovation
- Equally as comfortable working independently and with a team
- Basic business acumen, working with PMs to ensure projects are delivered on time, on brief, and on budget
- Contributes to a culture of sharing, learning, respect and collaboration
Qualifications:
- 5 years professional creative experience
- Educational or professional background in Design, Art Direction, or comparable visually-forward brand or marketing experience
- Comfortable working in a variety of mediums, including campaigns, digital/social, content, events, and more.
- Proficient in Adobe creative suite – can seamlessly develop concept visuals independently that are on brand, polished, and presentation ready
- Ability to develop the “big idea”/conceptual thinking, and present your ideas in PowerPoint, Keynote and/or Google Slide.
- Possess a visual point of view and ability to communicate that vision, and share it with creative collaborators, designers, and partners
- Desire and passion for collaboration among creatives, agency partners, and vendors
- Compulsively curious, always seeking innovation, trends, and knowledge sharing
- Can support in the crafting of presentations and pitch decks
- Has an appetite to learn new skills
- Can interpret and action feedback
- Willingness to step outside art direction to support in overall creative vision, production, internal projects and beyond
- Are both connected & collaborative – a culture vulture with deep tentacles and interests in culture, tech, music, fashion, art, etc., and a passion for sharing
