What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nurse Practitioner/ Physician’s Assistant position at Beyond Podiatry?
We are seeking a patient-centric, personality-driven, solution-seeking, professional expertise-focused, and innovative team candidate. Must be able to travel to our Oak Lawn and Des Plaines locations.
The ideal candidate is an experienced Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to diagnose and treat patients with acute or chronic vein conditions, usually overlying with other comorbidities in the vascular department of our large podiatric practices. These diagnoses may include Chronic Venous Insufficiencies, DVTs, Varicose Veins, Spider Veins, and other venous issues. The job description of a PA/NP also includes conducting and documenting comprehensive initial and ongoing physical examinations based on age and diagnosis. Daily tasks will include but are not limited to:
- Working side by side closely in a team with a Vascular Tech and Physician to complete the partnership in the care triad to prioritize the patient’s needs as they pertain to overall vascular health and wellbeing.
- Effectively manage a potential daily clinic load of 15-20 patients.
- Perform some vein procedures, as well as explain and refer patients to vein physicians the minimally invasive ones.
- Demonstrate proficiency in technical/procedural skills, as appropriate, based on specialty and training. Emphasis on specialty care and diagnoses in lower limb vascular diagnoses and procedures.
- Facilitate/participate in quality-related initiatives through planned group processes, workshops, seminars, and staff meetings to improve clinical and system practice performance.
- Assist in marketing and physician outreach efforts on occasion to stimulate clinic growth and support the practice's mission of future expansion.
- Performing other duties as assigned.

- Monday-Friday schedule
- No call, no nights, no weekends
Qualifications
- Active Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner license
- Documentation of completion of accredited Advanced Practice Education Program.
- A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience is required, preferably in vascular, wound care, ER, or primary care/internal medicine.
- Reliable transportation to our office in Oak Lawn and Des Plaines areas.
