Commitment : Part-Time Consultant (anticipated 10-20 hours per week) Contract Duration : 3-6 months with potential for extension based on performance and organizational needs Compensation : $3,500-$5,000 per month, based on 10-15 hours / week and anticipated number of grant submissions. Scope of Work Grant Research & Prospecting : Identify and cultivate new funding opportunities from national government-funded or large-scale non-profit organizations , as well as national corporate and family foundations. Utilize established relationships, subscribed databases, and grant association portals to build a robust pipeline of grant opportunities aligned with Beyond Type 1’s mission and program goals. Conduct research on donor trends and prioritize high-impact funding prospects. Grant Proposal Development : Draft, edit, and finalize compelling grant proposals and letters of inquiry (LOIs) that reflect the organization’s priorities and goals. Collaborate with internal teams to gather necessary programmatic and / or campaign data and impact metrics to support proposal narratives. Ensure proposals are tailored to meet each funder’s specific guidelines and criteria. Grant Submission & Reporting : Manage the full submission process, including gathering required attachments, meeting deadlines, and confirming receipt of submissions. Track the progress of grant applications and maintain organized documentation of submissions and follow-ups. Prepare post-award reports to ensure compliance with funder requirements, including tracking key deliverables, budget expenditures, and outcomes. Fundraising Strategy Development : Collaborate with senior leadership to refine and implement a comprehensive grants strategy that aligns with the organization's broader fundraising goals. Provide strategic recommendations to diversify and expand the organization’s funding streams. Communication & Collaboration : Act as a liaison between Beyond Type 1 and external funders, fostering transparent and positive relationships. Work closely with the marketing and finance teams to ensure alignment of messaging, financial reporting, and donor stewardship. Key Deliverables : Comprehensive list of grant prospects with submission timelines. Weekly touchpoint meetings with the internal team supporting the grant writing process. Completed grant proposals and LOIs submitted by agreed deadlines. Quarterly status updates on grant activities and outcomes. Post-grant reports and wrap-up documentation as required by funders. Basic Qualifications : A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in grant writing, fundraising strategy, or nonprofit development. Demonstrated success in securing significant grant funding (e.g., $100,000 per grant) from national foundations, corporations, or government sources. Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Proficiency with donor management systems and grant tracking databases. Strong written and verbal communication skills with a focus on clear, concise, and compelling proposal narratives. Preferred Qualifications : 5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising and grant management. Experience working within the diabetes, public health, or chronic illness community. Familiarity with virtual collaboration tools and remote work environments. Advanced degree in nonprofit management, public health, or a related field.
