Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Medical Billing Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of revenue cycle management. This position is essential in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our billing processes, enhancing patient satisfaction, and maintaining a healthy revenue flow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle patient inquiries regarding cost share responsibilities and billing issues.
- Code and submit clean claims electronically and manually using the Athenahealth system.
- Review medical documentation and audit reports for accuracy and compliance.
- Follow up on Accounts Receivable items and actively manage A/R for assigned providers.
- Conduct outbound calls to patients with outstanding balances and assist with collections.
- Verify and update patient information, including insurance details.
- Process claims re-submissions and secondary insurance claims as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to company practices.
- Generate and support billing-related reports, including Zero Pay reports.
- Collaborate with insurance companies to resolve claim issues and submit medical records requests.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in medical billing and revenue cycle management.
- Strong knowledge of insurance practices and billing software, particularly Athenahealth.
- Excellent problem-solving and auditing skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, staff, and insurance representatives.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
Education & experience:
-High school diploma or GED
-Associate or bachelor’s Degree highly preferred
-Billing experience working in a medical practice is desired, at least 2 paid current years.

Special Skills/Equipment: Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Salary : $21
