What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inbound Supervisor (Distribution Center) position at BFG, LLC?
The Inbound Supervisor oversees a dock team and schedules incoming product shipments related to purchase order receipts and inventory warehouse transfers. Previous inbound receiving experience required.
Compensation Data: Non-exempt hourly pay based on experience.
Travel: None
Location/Schedule: Onsite in Bloomingdale, GA. M-F, 6:30am-3:00pm with flex
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leads a dock team to maintain the highest levels of safety, quality, attendance, and performance.
2. Implements a seasonal staffing plan in support of productivity requirements and ensuring workflow balance.
3. Reviews daily incoming shipments, oversees receiving dock availability, and manages the Receipt Master for open purchase orders.
4. Communicates with transportation carriers to set dock appointments for full truck load deliveries or directs variable quantity deliveries to open dock positions.
5. Assigns dock teams to unload and warehouse receivers to store product into inventory.
6. Reviews packing lists against purchase orders and documents discrepancies of actual versus expected receipts.
7. Organizes and consolidates warehouse locations to allow space for incoming shipments.
8. Ensures product is received into inventory correctly, transacted into the right location, and reviewed for any discrepancies.
9. Records and communicates over, short or damage of incoming product and provides photographs and descriptions of the order discrepancy to the appropriate Buyer.
10. Performs data entry to record transactions.
11. Assists the Operations Manager with inventory investigations and storage as needed.
12. Maintains a clean and safe working environment.
What you will need to succeed:
Education & Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education.
- Good primary math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Good computer skills.
Competencies:
- Attention to detail.
- Experienced in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Can safely traverse the warehouse as necessary.
