Job descriptionHFW has a current opening for full-time Laborer/Lab Tech on our 2nd shift. 2nd shift is Monday through Friday. Some Saturdays would be needed. If you are looking for a change of career or just need a change, HFW could be the place for you.The laborer/ lab tech will know the proper use of pH strips and interpretation of all tests. You will know how to obtain samples and the proper way to calculate chemical additions. The lab tech will know the proper use of laboratory tools (i.e., pi-ump, pipette, burette). They will understand the proper way to titrate and how to calculate titration. They will have data entry skills.The technician must have a working knowledge of the operation, maintenance and cleaning of primary and secondary wastewater treatment equipment and facilities, wastewater treatment principles, safety rules, first aid, chemical handling, wastewater sampling and process control tests.Key Responsibilities
- Accurate record keeping and reporting of all test results.
- Administer and monitor chemistry and adjust as necessary.
- Daily/weekly activities to maintain housekeeping in the lab and organization of all lab equipment and testing devices.
- Monitor quality control measures and adjust ensure product quality.
- Follow safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Complete chemistry checks, report and maintain accurate records/logs.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
