Job Summary:
BFG Manufacturing Services is seeking a Machine Repair/Maintenance Technician to join our team. This individual will be responsible for performing both repair and preventative maintenance on all machinery and supporting equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with our production team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshooting & Repairs:
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair machinery and supporting equipment to ensure smooth and efficient operation.
- Preventative Maintenance:
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on all machinery and equipment to minimize breakdowns and maximize operational efficiency.
- Safety Checks:
Conduct safety inspections of all equipment to ensure compliance with safety protocols and identify any potential hazards.
- Work Documentation:
Accurately log all maintenance and repair activities, including parts used and time spent, for accurate record-keeping and future reference.
- Team Collaboration:
Work closely with production workers and other team members to identify and resolve maintenance issues and ensure minimal disruption to operations.
- Additional Duties:
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor to assist in the overall success of operations.
Job Requirements:
- Physical Ability: Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces as required by equipment maintenance.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of electrical systems, electric motors, plumbing, pumps, and related machinery components.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Strong mechanical skills with manual dexterity to handle small parts and equipment.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve mechanical issues quickly and efficiently.
- Computer Skills: Basic computer skills to log work and maintain accurate maintenance records.
- Teamwork: Ability to collaborate effectively with production teams and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or certifications in mechanical or electrical systems is a plus.
- Previous experience in machine repair or maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of industrial machinery, mechanical systems, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to follow instructions, prioritize tasks, and work in a fast-paced environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
