What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heavy Diesel Truck Shop Mechanic & Foreman position at BFS Companies?
Bruceton Petroleum Companies, Inc., in business for over 35 years, is looking for a Shop Mechanic & Foreman for their Mt Pleasant, PA terminal.
JOB DUTIES:
- Responsible for scheduling and maintaining tanker trucks, tank wagons, fuel and propane trailers and any other vehicles/machines on the premises.
- Repairing and troubleshooting components such as: engines, transmissions and differentials, turbochargers, fuel system components, etc.
- Supervise Technicians, daily work schedules, including quality of repairs.
- Safety and Security of the shop should always be a top priority.
- Be involved with work being performed in the shop, assist and mentor with guidance and advice.
- Responsible for creating / closing RO’s and PO’s as well keeping paperwork current.
- Keep inventory at suitable levels, keep parts room organized.
- Keeping equipment in compliance with FMCSA.
- Road calls
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Stand, bend, lift up to 75 lbs.
WORK CONDITIONS: Shop Environment.
EQUIPMENT AND MACHINES USED: Tools used to repair tractors and trailers, computer diagnostics, proprietary software, shop vehicle, fork lift, office equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS: Experienced as a Mechanic and Supervisor experience.
JOB KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Supervise and schedule Mechanic’s daily tasks.
- Must be able to prioritize, able to adjust quickly to changing tasks
- Time Management
- Effective safety compliance
- Experienced Technician skills
- Experience with diagnostic software
