Job Purpose
The Copywriter is responsible for creating compelling copy for a variety of mediums, including websites, promotional materials, magazines, video, email, and social media. The ideal candidate has a passion for the automotive industry and a strong understanding of marketing best practices, including strategies, tactics, campaign development, and results tracking.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Adheres to company polices and presents a professional, positive attitude at all times.
- Write compelling headlines and taglines that capture the attention of the target audience.
- Write clear, concise, and compelling copy for marketing and training materials.
- Write engaging pillar page content that includes stand-alone posts.
- Collaborate with internal and external subject matter experts.
- Collaborate with the video team to write scripts and assist with storyboard development.
- Stay up to date with the latest automotive industry news, trends, and technologies to bring fresh and relevant perspectives to your writing.
- Conduct internal and external research to gain insight into our core audiences.
- Conduct A/B copy testing for marketing campaigns focused on lead conversion.
- Implement SEO best practices in blog post and web page content.
- Edit and proofread copy according to AP Stylebook and BG Products style guidelines to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
- Adhere to company policies and present a professional, positive attitude.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, marketing, or related field.
- 3 years of experience as a copywriter.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Excellent research and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Knowledge of SEO and social media best practices a plus.
- Willingness to take direction and be creative within established guidelines.
- Demonstrated focus on execution — on time.
- Ability to establish and maintain great working relationships at all levels within the company and across multiple departments.
- Automotive industry experience and knowledge preferred.
