Position Overview
The Director, Resource Management is responsible for strategically allocating and managing the agency's human resources across projects, ensuring optimal utilization of staff skills and availability to deliver projects on time and within budget, while maintaining overall team capacity and maximizing efficiency by coordinating with project managers and other stakeholders to effectively assign tasks based on individual expertise and workload.
Responsibilities
- Resource Planning and Allocation:
- Analyze project requirements and staff capabilities so appropriate team members are assigned to projects based on skills, experience, and availability.
- Monitor team capacity and workload to prevent over-allocation and burnout.
- Forecast future resource needs based on upcoming projects and business demands.
- Manage time off requests and ensure adequate coverage during absences.
- Project Management Support:
- Collaborate with project managers to identify resource gaps and proactively address them.
- Provide real-time updates on resource availability and potential conflicts.
- Facilitate communication between project teams and key stakeholders regarding resource allocation.
- Work with project managers to identify and address timeline challenges, such as unrealistic deadlines or insufficient time allocation.
- Talent Management:
- Identify skill gaps within the agency and develop training plans to upskill employees.
- Monitor individual performance and provide feedback to team members
- Foster a culture of collaboration and cross-functional teamwork
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Utilize resource management software (OpenAir) to track project progress, staff utilization, and key performance indicators.
- Generate reports for leadership on resource allocation, project timelines, and potential bottlenecks.
- Client Management:
- Collaborate with account managers to understand client needs and ensure resource allocation aligns with project requirements.
- Communicate resource updates and potential impacts to clients as needed.
Qualifications
- 7 years' experience within Resource Management or related fields within an agency setting, ideally across multiple disciplines like account, creative, digital, studio, and outside partners.
- Background in project management or similar roles with a focus on resource optimization.
- Understanding of industry trends and best practices in resource management.
Salary range: $125,000 - $155,000
The salary range provided represents what a potential hire may expect to earn in this role at BGB. Actual salary decisions will be influenced by several factors that we use to determine overall fit, including experience (both direct and indirect), education, training, demonstrated qualifications, and organizational need. Salary is only one component of the total rewards package offered at BGB Group.
