Summary:  The Logistical Support Manager is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data related to customer supply chain and logistics operations to identify areas for improvement, optimize efficiency, and minimize costs.  Must be able to review and plan transportation schedules, inventory levels, and delivery processes, ultimately recommending adjustments to logistics procedures and strategies to ensure timely product delivery while maximizing cost-effectiveness. Must be able to have direct communication and coordination with the customer.

 

Essential Functions:

·        Provide operations management with analysis of operational trends and efficiencies using available Enterprise Resource Systems, including customer WMS, Tableau, and BGDC business intelligence software.

·        Gathering and analyzing data from various sources like inventory management systems, transportation providers, and warehouse systems to identify trends and patterns, making recommendations for efficiency.

·        Monitoring key logistics performance indicators (KPIs) like delivery times, on-time delivery rates, service level, fill-rates, and inventory turns to assess operational efficiency.

·        Analyzing and modifying current logistics processes, identifying areas for improvement such as streamlining order fulfillment, optimizing warehouse layout, improving dock efficiencies, order frequencies/quantities, reducing unnecessary transportation steps, and eliminating waste in other key inbound/outbound processes.

·        Preparing detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to facility management, executive leadership, customer contacts and other stakeholders.

·        Evaluating and managing relationships with transportation and warehouse partners to ensure quality service and customer satisfaction.

·        Maintaining and updating logistics databases and software applications to ensure data accuracy and system functionality. 

·        Evaluate material handling methods and equipment for process improvements. 

·        Evaluate and make recommendations for process improvements, improving productivity and costs reduction.

·        Develop plans to complete project tasks based on priority and execute project scopes, specifications and estimates as needed.

·        Collaborate with on site Industrial Engineering and Continuous Improvement staff to support lean initiatives, process improvement and associated data analysis.

·        Supporting operational needs as required and take on other duties as assigned.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

·        Ability to schedule own tasks and handle all facets of assigned projects independently and with minimal supervision; multi-tasking.

·        Ability to communicate clearly, both written and orally.

·        Proficiency in all Microsoft Office solution programs.

·        Experience in analyzing and compiling data into meaningful and actionable items.

·        Develop relationships within all levels of the organization.

·        Possess strong math, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

·        Experience with Warehouse Management Systems & SQL is beneficial.

·        Willingness to work on all shifts as needed. Though the majority of work days are standard day shifts, there are occasions where duties require work during night shifts or taking customer calls off hours.

·        Ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.

·        Ability to communicate effectively with variety of individuals at different levels of BGDC and customer organizations.

·        Ability to pay close attention to detail.

·        Strong interpersonal skills and judgment in communicating with staff.

·        Must be able to relate to others beyond giving and receiving instructions: they must get along with co-workers without exhibiting behavioral extremes; perform work activities requiring reasoning, negotiating, instructing, persuading, or speaking with others; and respond appropriately to criticism from a manager.

·        Must have very strong customer service orientation with high sense of urgency in meeting objectives and deadlines.

 

Tools and Technology Required:

·        Microsoft Office Suite & Windows.

·        Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.

·        Proficient with WMS, DLx, SQL, RF, and other Warehouse production systems preferred.

 

Educational Requirements:

·        Bachelor’s degree required.

·        2 years of industrial engineer experience or education preferred.

·        2 years leadership or warehouse experience or education preferred.
