Position Overview
We are seeking a part-time Dining Room Server to support food service operations at the Portland Air National Guard Base. This role is essential in maintaining high standards of food service and sanitation while contributing to a positive dining experience for all patrons.
Key Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Experience: Previous experience in food preparation, handling, and serving.

Certifications:
- Active Food Handler Certification from the Oregon Health Authority (required by the first day of work).
- Certification to prepare, handle, and serve food in Oregon.
- Background: Ability to pass a security clearance check (background checks will be conducted).
- Age: Must be at least 18 years old.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve food in standard portions as directed and maintain proper temperatures.
- Prepare and manage serving lines, including setup and breakdown, in line with Food Service Management Program guidelines.
- Assist with assembling, packing, and distributing Grab-and-Go meals.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by cleaning dining tables, chairs, appliances, and cooking surfaces.
- Perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, walking, and standing for extended periods.
- Ensure compliance with federal and Air Force-mandated sanitation requirements.
- Support the base recycling program by sorting and disposing of recyclable materials appropriately.
Physical Demands
This position involves frequent physical activity, including:
- Lifting, bending, pushing, and kneeling.
- Standing or walking for the majority of each shift.
Schedule
- Work hours: 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM, Friday through Sunday.
- No services required on recognized U.S. holidays or when the base is closed.
