Bgesh is looking for eager and dependable Food Preparers to join our team and support our soldiers at Ft. Walker, near Bowling Green, VA. These are temporary positions, beginning March 10, 2025 to April 2, 2025. Both early and late shifts available, Sunday through Saturday. You are welcome to work one or both.
Anticipated shifts are:
Early shift: 4 am - 10 am
Late shift: 2pm - 8 pm

QUALIFICATIONS:
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- U.S. Citizenship: Workers performing under this contract must be US Citizens
- Previous experience preparing, handling, and serving food
- High School Diploma or Equivalent,
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- MUST ALREADY HAVE ServSafe Certification or, will to get the certification immediately, and be certified to prepare, handle, and serve food in the State of Virginia
- Must have a clear background in order to obtain security clearance to work on base
DUTIES:
- Maintain a clean work area/environment that includes cleaning of refrigerators/freezers, cooking equipment, and serving equipment.
- Provide assistance with preparing and portioning meals
- Function in a fast-paced environment, perform routine kitchen tasks, while being organized and clean.
- Keep up with garbage collection and keep kitchen floors clean from excess food/trash.
- This role includes physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods of time.
- Be able to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift.
- Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
- Abide by all food safety regulations pertaining to sanitation, food handling and storage
- Ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
- Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
- Use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
- Timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages, and
- Add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
- Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
- Adhere to the uniform policy
- Connect with the Manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
- Supervise the food temperature requirements
SCHEDULE:
- Shifts: 4:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. (early shift); and 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (late shift),
- Sunday thru Saturday coverage is needed
- Position type: Hourly
- Reimbursement for ServSafe Certification. Must be completed immediately
