Requirements
The Building Engineer must have a practical mind and attention to detail, with the ability to work autonomously and responsibly. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of maintenance experience; solid understanding of commercial buildings mechanical systems, general plumbing, general electrical knowledge. Scope includes:
- 3-5 years experience in mechanical, electrical and plumbing operations for commercial office buildings.
- Experience with computerized building management and fire alarm systems.
- Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
- Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices
- Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
- Good physical condition and strength with a willingness to work overtime
- EPA universal certification preferred, but not required.
- Operates, maintains and logs all HVAC and MEP equipment under the direction of his/ her supervisor.
- Complete tenant service request as needed.
- Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment, plumbing and electrical systems, as directed by supervisor.
- Maintain computerized or manual equipment logs that detail preventive work performed.
- Cleans and paints all equipment and surrounding areas to equipment and equipment rooms.
- Assists in the ordering of stock and inventory of parts and supplies as needed.
- Maintains professional appearance and manner at all times while in the complex.
- Makes required repairs to all building systems.
