Measurement Analyst
Houston, TX | Oil & Gas Industry
Our client, a leading energy company, is seeking a Measurement Analyst to join their team in Houston. Reporting to the Corporate Measurement Manager, this role will be instrumental in ensuring the integrity of production volumes by collaborating with various business units, field personnel, and production accountants. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience with FLOWCAL, and a background in oil and gas measurement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily & Weekly Measurement Oversight: Run FLOWCAL exception resolver daily and resolve identified exceptions on a weekly basis.
- Data Estimation & Accuracy: Utilize historical data and analytical expertise to estimate production volumes for missing or unrecorded data.
- Facility Balancing & Compliance: Maintain and evaluate facility balancing on a weekly and monthly basis to ensure measurement accuracy.
- Production Data Management: Work closely with production data teams to ensure consistency and accuracy across assets.
- Data Quality Assurance: Import and evaluate meter proving, meter calibration, and liquid and gas analyses to ensure data integrity and compliance with contractual obligations.
- Month-End Close: Execute end-of-month processes related to measurement activities.
- Issue Tracking & Resolution: Identify, track, and address field measurement issues in a timely manner.
- Reporting & Communication: Provide clear and concise updates regarding measurement activities, product validation, and any discrepancies.
- Project Management: Handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and business requirements.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (intermediate level required).
- FLOWCAL Expertise: Hands-on experience with FLOWCAL and related products.
- Database & Analytics: Experience with SQL databases and allocation methodologies.
- Spotfire Experience: Ability to leverage Spotfire for data visualization and analysis.
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of oil and gas production operations and measurement practices, including basic gas and liquid measurement principles.
Education & Experience:
- Minimum Requirement: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Accounting, Computer Science, IT, or Finance (or equivalent work experience).
- Experience: 3-5 years of relevant experience in measurement, production operations, or data analysis within the oil and gas industry.
