Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Construction Administrator and Contract Negotiator to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in overseeing and managing day-to-day operations in a fast-paced construction environment. You will be responsible for administrative tasks, project management support, budget tracking, and ensuring that the company adheres to industry standards and regulations. You will ensure that all construction contracts are negotiated effectively to minimize risk and maximize profitability. This role will also focus on negotiating terms with clients, contractors, and suppliers, managing legal documents, and protecting the company's best interests in all contractual agreements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Coordination: Manage day-to-day operations of multiple construction projects, including scheduling, document control, and procurement.
- Financial Management: Assist in budget preparation, monitor project costs, and ensure financial performance aligns with the plan.
- Contract Administration: Assist in the creation, negotiation, and management of contracts for subcontractors, vendors, and clients.
- Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with construction laws, building codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
- Communication: Serve as the main point of contact between project managers, clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records for all project-related documentation, including contracts, change orders, and project timelines.
- Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations for construction contracts, subcontracts, and supplier agreements to ensure favorable terms for the company.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks within contracts and provide solutions to mitigate those risks.
- Legal Compliance: Ensure that contracts adhere to all legal and regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, legal teams, and senior leadership to assess contract terms, costs, and timelines.
- Documentation: Prepare and review detailed contractual agreements, ensuring accuracy and clarity in all terms and conditions.
- Dispute Resolution: Assist in resolving disputes related to contracts and deliverables in collaboration with legal and project management teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- At least 3 years of experience in construction administration or a related role.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, budgeting, and scheduling.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Experience with construction management software is a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of construction law, contract management, and risk mitigation.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to review, analyze, and interpret complex contracts.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and contract management software.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
