Sr Cloud Security Engineer

Position :  Expert Cloud Security EngineerLocation :  RemoteEmployment Type :  ContractImportant :  This position is contingent upon contract award, with an expected start date of May 1, 2025.As a Sr. Cloud Security Engineer, you will play a critical role in safeguarding our cloud environments. You will design, implement, and manage robust security controls to protect sensitive data and systems, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and respond effectively to security incidents.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement security architectures and controls for Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS) environments.Manage security technologies, including SIEM, firewalls, and vulnerability management tools.Integrate and manage Content Delivery Networks (CDN) and Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) tools.Respond to security incidents, perform root cause analyses, and develop recovery strategies.Collaborate with Managed Detection & Response (MDR) providers to monitor and investigate alerts.Implement containerized and micro-architecture platforms following industry best practices.Ensure compliance with standards such as OWASP, NIST, and FISMA while aligning with organizational goals.Minimum Requirements10 years of information security and engineering experience.Bachelors degree in Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field (Masters degree preferred).At least 3-5 years in a cloud security architect or management role.Proficiency in cloud technologies (e.g., Azure, AWS) and security solutions.Hands-on experience with SIEM systems, firewalls, and security configuration management.Expertise in vulnerability management and breach incident resolution.Preferred QualificationsCertifications such as CompTIA Security , CISSP, or equivalent.Experience with serverless cloud applications, Linux / Microsoft server environments, and object-oriented coding (e.g., Python, Java).Familiarity with tools like Cloudflare, Azure Sentinel, Tenable Nessus, and Microsoft Defender.Knowledge of standards like IRS 1075, CMS MARS-E, and NIST guidelines.Legal DisclaimerBH Zion is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
