Position : Senior Database AdministratorLocation : RemoteEmployment Type : ContractImportant : This position is contingent upon contract award, with an expected start date of May 1, 2025.As a Sr DBA, you will be responsible for ensuring database systems' health, security, and availability. You will lead efforts in database optimization, automation, and cloud integration while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.Key ResponsibilitiesAdminister and maintain enterprise RDBMS databases for large-scale, mission-critical applications.Design, implement, and optimize database solutions, including backups, restores, and disaster recovery processes.Ensure adherence to security best practices for database systems, including role-based access control.Build and execute scripts to automate daily tasks and optimize performance.Implement and maintain database upgrades, patches, and replication strategies.Utilize CI / CD pipelines to streamline database processes and support development lifecycles.Manage ETL processes, data warehouse architectures, and change data capture (CDC) tools.Develop and maintain technical documentation for database solutions and operational tasks.Minimum Requirements9 years of experience in enterprise database administration with large-scale applications (SQL Server 2012 ).Associates degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (Bachelors or Masters degree preferred).Advanced knowledge of AlwaysOn, T-SQL, clustering, and transactional replication.Experience with cloud-based Database PaaS solutions and Azure Data Factory.Scripting expertise in PowerShell or shell scripting for task automation.Proven experience in implementing and maintaining ETL pipelines and data warehouse solutions.Preferred QualificationsMicrosoft SQL Server certifications.Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS / SSAS) and T-SQL scripting.Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as Cosmos DB or MongoDB.Hands-on experience with Azure cloud services, Terraform, Ansible, and Datadog.Expertise in database migrations, CI / CD processes, and replication techniques.Legal DisclaimerBH Zion is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
