LEAD CHILD AND ADOLESCENT PSYCHIATRIST
ACCOUNTABLE AND RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FOLLOWING RESULTS:
• Provide initial (medical and/or behavioral health) evaluations and ongoing medication management according to recognized guidelines.
• May provide Suboxone inductions and ongoing prescribing and monitoring of Suboxone clients. (we do not do suboxone inductions in children)
• Complete initial assessment and progress notes according to BHcare policy.
• Maintain active clinical collaborations with other psychiatrists, nurses and clinicians at BHcare, to be carried out in formal and informal meetings.
• Work closely with all clinical providers to participate in the production of improved performance standards.
• Provide telephone on-call service back-up for clients (may participate in the monthly On- Call Back-up).
• Review and prepare treatment plans for clients.
• Review/sign all treatment plans, APRN initial evaluations, clinician psychiatric evaluations, home care nursing orders, and complete all other required documentation.
• Complete physician emergency certificate when indicated.
• Document in and utilize electronic health record system and on-line prescribing system.
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Provide supervision for APRNs under a collaborative agreement at PCRC as designated by the Medical Director.
• Provide consultation to Shoreline Family Health Center’s Behavioral Health Serialist and Primary Care Physicians and APRNs.
• Adhere to agency policies and procedures, including ongoing compliance with accreditation standards and licensing board.
• Serve on internal and external committees as required.
• Meet productivity standards.
• Attend training sessions, workshops, and seminars as requested by supervisor, or as needed for professional development, or as required for accreditation or licensing.
• May be required to use own vehicle on company business.
• Regular and consistent attendance is an essential function of this position.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Psychiatrist with a graduate degree from an accredited College or University School of Medicine. Board-eligible or Board-certified in psychiatry. Board Certified in Addictions or Addiction experience or training preferred.
- Experience with Suboxone including residency/internship is highly preferred. Ability to obtain and/or maintain a Drug Addiction Treatment Act of 2000 (Suboxone) waiver (DATA 2000 waiver) preferred.
- Physician’s License, State of Connecticut
- Drug Enforcement Administration Registration Certificate Connecticut Controlled Substance Prescription Registration
- Must have working knowledge of computer applications, and if applicable ability to navigate through electronic health record.
Salary : $211,494 - $296,031
