Your Role The Opportunity
As the Client Leader, you will join the firm at our Charlotte, NC office, reporting to the Integrated Industrial Design (IID) Market Leader. You will be responsible for business development, sales, and nurturing existing client relationships across our five (5) strategic industrial manufacturing design sectors: Food and beverage, Consumer Products, Chemicals and Coatings, Pharmaceuticals, and Discrete Manufacturing. The IID Market is dedicated to delivering strategic growth strategies, programming and planning, and design for clients with manufacturing, distribution, and warehouse facility operations both domestically and internationally. In this role, your work will require you to be an inspiring team leader with a strategic mindset to help drive growth, expand existing accounts, and develop new client relationships. This director-level role provides the opportunity to pursue professional growth while helping our clients achieve breakthrough productivity, cost, and speed to market.
The Role Priorities
- Collaborate with the IID Market Leader to identify prospective clients where BHDP can establish mutually beneficial, long-term, trusted relationships as the architectural design firm of choice.
- Establish and nurture relationships with prospective clients while fostering personal, high-level relationships with multiple key client contacts within existing accounts.
- Identify and establish relationships with local and national engineering and general contracting firms.
- Secure sales from existing and new clients within our five (5) strategic industrial manufacturing design sectors: Food & Beverage, Consumer Products, Chemicals and Coatings, Pharmaceuticals, and Discrete Manufacturing.
- Alongside the Market Leader, develop and manage business plans for existing and new clients.
- Play an active leadership role in planning, preparing, and facilitating client interviews and presenting RFP responses to prospective clients.
- Collaborate on strategic firm-wide initiatives that are crafted to continuously elevate the firm's visionary future.
- Represent BHDP at conferences and seminars, promoting community engagements and networking with individual and professional organizations.
- Promote a workplace culture that is consistent with the BHDP Collective Ambition.
Skills Qualifications
- A professional, accredited degree in Architecture or Engineering, along with 15 years’ experience, is preferred. Professional registration is a plus.
- Industrial manufacturing facility planning, and design or operations experience highly desired.
- Previous business development and sales experience highly desired.
- Previous experience leading and developing responses to RFQs / RFPs including strong writing skills, preparing professional consulting service fee estimates, and developing integrated design execution schedules. Knowledge or experience in the use of MS Project is a plus.
- Candidate must possess strong written and oral communication and presentation skills.
- Candidates should possess strong strategic leadership skills and be highly self-motivated.
- Candidates should possess contractual and business financial management awareness and experience.
- The successful candidate must be able and willing to travel both domestically and internationally as required for client interviews, maintain client relationships, manage project work, and deliver expected results. Travel is expected to be in the range of 15-20%, however flexibility will be required depending on the project phase and progress.
