Job Description:
Critical Operations Role: We are seeking a highly skilled Associate Operations Technician to join our team at the Cove Point facility in Lusby, MD. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals with experience in process operations and a passion for ensuring safe and reliable terminal operations.
About the Position: As an Associate Operations Technician, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various equipment and systems within the liquefied natural gas (LNG) import/export and liquefaction/re-gasification terminal. You will work closely with our experienced operators and supervisors to ensure smooth terminal operations and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain LNG process systems, including Distributed Control System (DCS) consoles
- Monitor and perform operator duties for loading/unloading of LNG ships
- Conduct site inspections and troubleshoot equipment or process problems
- Collaborate with Shift Supervisors and Lead Operators to resolve plant problems and improve reliability and safety
- Analyze chemistry and adjust chemical concentrations as required
- Perform all duties applying safety and environmental protocols and adhering to regulatory mandates
Requirements:
- 0-2 years' experience in an industrial setting, process/product chemical engineering, or operations
- Recent experience in a processing environment and Control Room experience preferred
- Knowledge of analytical chemistry and laboratory concepts and techniques
- Strong analytical and deductive reasoning skills, laboratory skills, oral and written communication skills, instrumentation skills, and mathematical skills
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve equipment or process problems
- Ability to conduct site inspections or walk downs, including working at heights
