Technical Trainer or Sr Technical Trainer Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Trainer or Sr Technical Trainer to join our team at BHE GT&S. The ideal candidate will have expertise in technical subject matter and experience in adult learning theory and instructional design.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain technical subject matter expertise and understanding of current business processes.
- Act as a subject matter expert in specific areas of technical (operational) expertise.
- Conduct hands-on technical training and operator qualification portions of the new hire training program.
- Work with contractors to ensure operator qualification and drug and alcohol plan compliance in a timely manner.
- Consult with business partners to clarify and define work procedures and processes, and develop and document new work procedures and processes.
- Monitor regulatory changes and update/develop training to meet standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Natural gas distribution/transmission pipeline operations experience.
Requirements:
- In-depth subject matter expertise in technical area of instruction.
- Thorough understanding of business processes related to area of instruction.
- In-depth knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design.
- Proficiency in equipment operation/troubleshooting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent personal computer skills.
- Competence in using software applications critical to target audience.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Good coaching skills.
- Ability to work well with minimal supervision.
- Ability to analyze job tasks and develop training materials.
- Ability to train and lead others.
- Ability to interface with regulatory personnel and industry peers.
Education:
Bachelor's degree (Typically four years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree.)
