The Director, Business Optimization will lead strategic initiatives at BHE Renewables with an emphasis on evaluating and refining business processes to drive improvement, maximize efficiency, reduce cost, and deliver a sustainable work model. This position will be responsible for the investigation, development, recommendation, implementation and administration of strategies, policies, programs and reporting of optimization initiatives across all BHE Renewables business units.
- Develop and implement systems, processes and data collection to support operational excellence, financial strength and business growth objectives. Establish and lead data management and integrity controls for optimizing business input and outputs. Support business unit strategic objectives and coordinate the development and implementation of business improvement plans.
- Lead and support processes, workflow and financial analysis to identify opportunities for measurement and improvement within and across business functions. Develop and manage project plans that align with budget targets and support annual business planning activities.
- Collaborate with the information technology department and individual business units to identify opportunities to enhance technology solution that support process improvement objectives, increase alignment with cybersecurity programs and improve business outcomes.
- Support cross-platform business optimization activities and reporting and other directives as assigned.
- Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, engineering, information systems or a related major or equivalent work experience.
- (Typically six years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree.)
- Eight or more years of related work experience in business valuation, operational analysis, financial analysis, financial modeling and strategy development, including three years of supervisory/management responsibilities.
- Experience using business acumen and strategic thinking through the development and implementation of business unit and/or project plans that align with BHE Renewables business objectives.
- Hands on development of accurate budgets based on departmental and business unit plans; controls expenditures within budgeted levels to support those plans.
- Project management skills: ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects concurrently.
- Prior experience with Business Optimization, Process Improvement and Process Engineering steps.
- Six Sigma training or experience helpful.
- Advanced interpersonal and leadership skills to direct the activities of individuals and/or teams toward the accomplishment of goals.
- Highly effective analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills to recognize patterns in data, information or events and to draw logical conclusions and make recommendations. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
