Directs and exercises functional authority over all thermal generation activities associated with assigned projects and engineering services. Monitor and develop strategic and operational plans for control, management and improvement of the thermal generation fleet ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives. Develop and implement asset performance investment management tools and resources. Oversee and manage the reliability centered maintenance program for the generation fleet .
Coordinates and implements large projects associated with thermal generation as well as investigate any new technologies that would apply to thermal generation, including but not limited to asset performance, reliability centered maintenance, operational improvement initiatives and plant audits. Administers project contracts as appropriate, manages the use of consultants, and has fiscal responsibility for all assigned projects.
Coordinates and implements engineering plans, conducts and directs engineering projects to support the safe, efficient and economical operations of the thermal facilities through the implementation of engineering practices and principles. The position is responsible for identifying and effecting development and expansion opportunities as well as appropriate standards and specifications for all operations, maintenance installations and capital projects. The position manages engineering staff, applying technical expertise to complex projects, developing process enhancements and representing the organization in outside discussions and technical forums.

- Coordinates and implements large projects associated with thermal generation as well as investigate any new technologies that would apply to thermal generation, including but not limited to asset performance, reliability centered maintenance, operational improvement initiatives and plant audits.
- Plan, develop and coordinate engineering projects based on project requirements; prepare preliminary and final plans, project specifications, feasibility studies on proposed projects, economic reports and cost estimates.
- Organize project staff based on project requirements and skill levels of staff; assign project staff to specific phases of projects such as technical studies, product design, preparation of specifications and technical plans, construction, field implementation, testing and project turnover to operations.
- Review project design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements and applicable codes and specifications. Coordinate activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling and resolving engineering design and test problems.
- Perform any additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, accounting, management, business administration or related field. (Typically six years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor’s degree.)
- Eight years of related experience, including three years supervisory/management responsibilities.
