BHE Renewables owns interests in several independent power projects in the U.S. BHE Renewables owns solar, wind, geothermal, hydro and natural gas projects that largely sell their output to regulated utilities. The company’s portfolio includes projects and assets in Arizona, California, Hawaii, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Nebraska, New York and Texas. BHE Renewables is building a first-of-its-kind solar-powered microgrid that will be the start of an aerospace manufacturing hub in West Virginia.

- Adhere to, support, and enforce all company safety and environmental rules, policies, and procedures.
- Responsible for the proper maintenance and repair of main steam turbines, cooling water pumps and injection pumps to include development of written job scopes and procedures to complete major inspections on turbines and generators.
- Identify spare parts and verifies stock of critical parts.
- Coordinates the repair of turbine rotors and turbine parts.
- Have reliability, predictive and preventative maintenance activities completed for the major rotating equipment. This includes vibration analysis, lubrication analysis and thermography.
- Recommend major work activities for critical equipment during major overhauls.
- Responsible for failure analysis program, coordinates investigations.
- Write technical portion of contracts to be performed on rotating equipment.
- Serves as owner’s representative for capital and expense mechanical projects.
- Provide technical leadership to staff.
- Provide technical input to assist in development of project planning.
- Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.
- Must have Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university engineering program.
- A professional engineering license is recommended to be considered for the senior level.
- Seven to ten years of experience and knowledge of turbine operation, maintenance and repair, power plant engineering, business/financial and contractual matters.
- Excellent communication skills are required to interface and communicate with all employees, superiors and vendors.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret procedures, regulations, blue prints, schematics and process and instrument diagrams. Capability of writing reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers, the general public and employees at all levels. Competent in giving oral and written instruction that is understandable by all.
- Must have above-average mathematical skills equivalent to a four-year college graduate, including at least 2 years of calculus.
- Must be able to make clear and precise decisions in critical situations (accident sites); make clear and precise decisions if environmental problems should occur and be able to evaluate safety/environmental concerns and develop a procedure that complies with CalEnergy Operating Corporation procedures.
- Must have the ability to use technical skills to focus ideas onto substantial projects. Must show a willingness to learn, as well as to clearly communicate complex ideas and concepts to those with less technical background.
- A valid California driver’s license is required. A California professional engineering license is preferred.
