What are the responsibilities and job description for the Blaster/Painter position at BHI Coatings?
BHI Coatings is currently looking to fill a position for a journeyman level blaster/painter for shop projects in Alvin, TX as well as industrial projects throughout the Houston area as well as Beaumont, TX. This job will mainly be applying Belzona coatings and pipe wraps. Belzona coatings experience is a plus, but not a requirement.
A qualified candidate will be responsible for performing the following:
- Perform abrasive blasting of various assets with minimum to no supervision
- Perform coating applications to pumps, heat-exchanger heads, vessels, and other various equipment with minimum to no supervision in a team environment or by yourself at some times
- Troubleshoot and repair blasting equipment when problems arise
- Know how to set up a full blasting system
- Be able to work on a solo project or with a team
- Be able to perform tasks safely in a shop or industrial setting with proper PPE
Basic Requirements:
- 3 years blasting and painting experience is strongly preferred
- Must be able to pass a written exam on blasting and painting provided at BHI's facility
- Must be able to demonstrate blasting knowledge in a hands on test at BHI's facility
- Must know and understand the different standards of abrasive blasting per the SSPC standards
- Must be able to adapt to a fast-paced environment
- Must be available to work overtime with little to no notice
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Must be able to pass a DISA drug screen
- TWIC card is strongly preferred
Pay:
$20 - $25 an Hour Depending on Experience and Testing
