Duties/Responsibilities
Clinical Oversight:
a. Provide clinical expertise and consultation to nursing and clinical teams across BHI Senior Living communities in all levels of care.
b. Collaborate with the Senior Director of Operations, Executive Director and Director of Nursing at each campus to assess, develop
and implement evidence-based policies and procedures.
c. Serve as the clinical leader offering guidance on managing high acuity and complex patient care, ensuring the best clinical outcomes.
d. Act as lead on incident investigation and response with a focus on prevention from reoccurrence through education and corrective
actions across all campuses.
e. May provide short-term support for campus Director of Nursing vacancies.
Nursing Staff Education and Development:
a. Design, develop and implement clinical education programs for all levels of clinical staff, including new hire orientation and continuing education for existing staff.
b. Facilitate quarterly CNA and QMA training programs across BHI’s footprint in coordination with the Regional Education Director.
c. Conduct regular training sessions, workshops and hands-on demonstrations to ensure clinical staff remain updated on the latest
care protocols and best practices.
Regulatory Compliance and Continuing Education:
a. Ensure that clinical education programs comply with federal, state and local regulations, including continuing education requirements for clinical staff.
b. Stay updated on regulatory changes and ensure compliance is maintained throughout all clinical operations and training programs.
c. Develop and manage a comprehensive competency validation process to ensure all clinical staff maintain necessary skills and knowledge.
d. Establish parameters for communities to track and maintain records of continuing education credits, ensuring all staff are compliant with their professional licensure requirements.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
a. Work closely with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, and administrative staff, to foster collaboration in clinical education and resident care delivery.
b. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and provide consultation to clinical leadership to drive improvements in care and resident satisfaction.
c. Act as the liaison between the clinical staff and executive leadership to develop clinical staffing models (licensed and direct service), address training needs and continuously improve care delivery processes.
d. Facilitate Director of Nursing community of practice to enable best practice sharing and fellowship amongst nursing leadership.
Continuous Improvement and Evaluation:
a. Lead development of new clinical education programs and initiatives that support the adoption of emerging care technologies, treatment methods and best practices.
b. Use feedback and data from clinical leaders and staff to evaluate and enhance the effectiveness of training programs.
c. Manage program resources and budget effectively, ensuring cost-efficiency in the delivery of clinical education.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in nursing is required, bachelor’s or master’s degree in
nursing or related field preferred. - Current RN license required.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in clinical nursing
- 5 years working as Director of Nursing
- Strong Leadership and communication skills, with ability to educate and mentor clinical staff across varying skill levels
- Thorough understanding of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements
- Willing and able to travel to any/all of BHI Senior Living communities, as needed
