Staff Accountant - 1352

A boutique accounting firm in Brooklyn seeks a motivated Staff Accountant with 1-2 years of tax experience to join the team and work directly with a diverse portfolio of clients. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a foundational understanding of tax procedures and a passion for providing quality service in a dynamic, client-centered environment.

Responsibilities Include:

• Preparing and reviewing individual and business tax returns with accuracy and compliance to meet deadlines.
• Assisting in tax planning and advising clients on tax-saving strategies and best practices.
• Conducting research on tax issues and staying up-to-date on federal and state tax regulations.
• Preparing financial statements and reports for clients, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.
• Assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and adjustments.
• Supporting client audits by gathering and organizing documentation as requested.
• Communicating regularly with clients to gather information and resolve any issues related to tax and accounting matters.

Ideal Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 1-2 years of experience in tax preparation and accounting, preferably in a public accounting setting.
• Strong understanding of tax regulations, filing requirements, and accounting principles.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines.
• Proficiency in accounting software and tax preparation tools; experience with QuickBooks is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.
