General Manager (GM)

Key Responsibilities:

• Guide the leaders of each hotel department in developing goals, objectives, and a plan of action for achieving them.
• Establish the hotel's reputation for quality by inspecting rooms, public areas, and the surrounding grounds for cleanliness and upkeep.
• Generate a budget that ensures guest satisfaction and quality of services while also keeping costs balanced and profit margins maximized.
• Lead sales and marketing efforts by developing a targeted strategy for publicizing the hotel's services and amenities.
• Empower hotel staff to excel in superior guest service to drive financial success through strong leadership and creative operational strategies.
• Oversee all aspects of day-to-day operations of the hotel and restaurant.
• Create the organizational structure, direct hiring, and manage general and role-specific training for key hotel personnel before opening.
• Assist in setting up vendor accounts and stocking the hotel with all needed operating supplies and equipment.
• Monitor guest satisfaction scores, ensure excellent customer service, and monitor associate well-being.
• Maintain operating budgets, regular financial reporting, and financial controls.
• Oversee sales and marketing efforts, proactively strengthening the connection between guest experience and business relations.
• Maintain and improve operating procedures for both hotel and restaurant operations, set clear objectives, manage employee relations, and ensure the safety and well-being of guests and associates.
• Communicate regularly with ownership and ensure compliance with brand standards.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience managing a team, preferably in the hospitality field.
• Excellent organizational skills, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities.
• 3-5 years as a Hotel General Manager or in an appropriate senior-level role at a large, complex hotel (IHG experience preferred).
• Experience operating a Food Beverage outlet with alcohol.
• Bachelor's or Associate Degree (preferred, but not required).
• Demonstrated track record of leadership and strong financial performance.
• Valid driver's license.
• Proficiency with Microsoft products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and OneDrive.
