The Scribe works directly with Provider to ensure an accurate and complete medical record for each patient. The Scribe assists the Medical Provider by accompanying him/her during the medical history taking and exam, recording details of both into the medical record, and coordinating departmental resources regarding orders, tests, and result.
Minimum Education, Experience, Training, and Licensures Required:
High School Diploma or GED and at least 2 years of job-related experience required.
Two years in the medical field as a Transcriptionist preferred.
Medical terminology and transcription courses are desirable. It is beneficial to have had an anatomy course or medical secretary course.
Above average typing skills and excellent spelling ability are required.
