Central Sterile Tech
Full Time, Third Shift
Job Description:
Ensure the safety and quality of patient care by meticulously sterilizing and preparing medical instruments, equipment, and supplies for use in surgical procedures and patient care areas.
Job Duties:
- Receive used medical instruments, trays and equipment from clinical areas (surgery, central distribution etc.) and perform initial inspection and sorting.
- Disassemble instruments and equipment as necessary and manually clean them using appropriate techniques, detergents, and cleaning agents.
- Prepare instruments and equipment for sterilization by assembling trays, sets, and packs according to established protocols.
- Distribute sterile instruments and supplies to surgical suites, procedural areas, and patient care units as requested, ensuring timely delivery and appropriate documentation.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Must obtain Certification as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) within 1 year
Preferred Requirements:
- Completion of a sterile processing technician program
- Experience in sterile processing or healthcare-related field
