Job Description:
Baptist Health is looking for a Certified Pharmacy Technician Automation Specialist to join our brand-new Central Pharmacy in LaGrange, KY.
- Works as a pharmacy liaison with other technology departments within BH.
- Assists with automation and technology systems management including placement, configuration, testing, monitoring, maintaining, quality assurance, implementation, and troubleshooting automation and technology systems.
- Provides subject-matter expertise for new technology assessment and usability.
- Supports maintenance of medication libraries used by various informatics platforms under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Supports and manages inventory and assists in optimizing as necessary.
- Ensures barcode scanning for medications is accurate and matches across all pharmacy systems.
- Coordinates maintenance and service calls for the automation equipment.
- Performs workflow assessments and optimizations.
- Assists with controlled substance surveillance and other audits.
- Maintains quality assurance reports.
- Serves as a subject matter expert in creating competencies and training staff on topics related to pharmacy automation on an ongoing basis.
Minimum & Preferred Requirements
- Nationally certified as a pharmacy technician.
- Registration with Kentucky Board of Pharmacy upon hire.
- At least 2 years hospital pharmacy experience (or similar experience) required.
- Pharmacy automation experience preferred.
- Proficiency with Omnicell/Parata, EPIC, and other pharmacy related technologies preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and other pharmacy related applications preferred.
