Cyto Tech
Day Shift, Full Time
Must have extensive knowledge in preparing, staining, and evaluating gynecological and non-gynecological material including fine needle aspirations. Demonstrates competency in assessing all material with a high level of accuracy. Shows good judgment with attention to details as well as respect patient confidentiality. Works professionally and courteously with physicians, patients, guests, and other employees.
Job Duties
- Assists with processing of specimens collected in CT scan as required.
- Performs routine microscopic evaluation of cytologic smears and cell blocks
- Completely and correctly screens and interprets cytologic specimens
- Performs clerical duties including entering data into computers, answering phones and distributing reports
- Performs operation and maintenance of the microscope, centrifuge, cytocentrifuge and all chemical reagents
Requirements
- No experience required
- Bachelor's degree in Cytology required
- Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) is required
