Monitor Technician
Full-Time I First Shift (7a-7p)
Emergency Department I Hamburg
Unit Description:
An Emergency department (ED) that provides 24-hour emergency care to patients who need urgent medical attention for severe injuries or illness. The Monitor Technician provides continuous observation and interpretation of cardiac rhythms with documentation and communication of pertinent arrhythmias and changes in rate, rhythm, NBP, and/or oxygen saturation to nurse responsible.
Description:
- Observes cardiac monitor, oxygen saturation and Blood pressure. Maintains equipment and supplies.
- Documents and communicates information regarding patient rhythms and Oxygen saturations, and blood pressure.
- Responsible for identification of patient arrhythmias, abnormalities, or significant changes from baseline and reporting on the condition of patient/client to the appropriate supervisor or other health care team members.
- Responsible for assisting providers with cardiac monitoring, therapeutic measures, and procedures related to cardiac monitoring.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year experience.
- RN License, LPN, prior monitor tech experience (substitute for degree)
- BLS, Basic dysrhythmia course completed during orientation and recertified annually.
