Job Description:
Job Summary:
HVAC Technician. Performs preventative maintenance, service and repair of HVAC equipment. Assists in the development and tracking of projects. Develops better ways to maintain workload.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
The following is a summary of the major functions of this individual's job. He or she may perform other duties, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below, and specific functions may change from time to time.
1. Responds to all maintenance and emergency calls making all repairs within his ability.
2. Estimates and schedules work to coordinate with other trades.
3. Troubleshoots failed equipment and makes needed repairs.
4. Performs assigned Preventive Maintenance tasks on all HVAC, refrigeration and ice machines.
5. Assist other technicians with repair of equipment associated with HVAC and/or refrigeration.
6. All other duties assigned by department leadership.
Minimum Education, Training and Experience Required:
A. High school diploma or equivalent.
B. Certification in HVAC and refrigeration preferred.
C. HVAC license with 2 years of HVAC experience or 5 years of HVAC experience as an alternate required.
D. Blueprint reading
E. Knowledgeable of building and fire codes that apply to hospital construction.
