Monitor Tech/Unit Secretary
Weekly Hours: 36
Shift: Nightshift
Status: Full Time
Job Summary:
The Unit Secretary/Nurse Assistant assists the nursing staff by performing selected nursing procedures and routine duties in caring for patients. All functions must be within the scope of training and instructions received and are under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. She possesses clerical aptitude and abilities, and assists in the coordination of the activities of the unit.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Provides telemetry monitoring for patients on the unit
2. Greets and assists patients and their family, providers, and staff as defined by their role
3. Assists patients with activity as designated
4. Maintains a safe environment for the patient according to policy and procedure
5. Documents appropriately and according to policy and procedure on the medical record
6. Participates in responsibilities of the unit
7. Transcribes orders according to policy and procedure
8. Maintains the Medical Record
9. Enters and transmits computer system information to other departments accurately and in a timely manner
Minimum Education, Training and Experience:
1. High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
