Overview
The Field Safety is responsible for the overall safety of job sites and executing safety deliverables throughout the organization.
Responsibilities
- Responsibilities include: ensuring all safety and training programs are compliant with company, customer, state and federal regulatory requirements.
- General oversight of job site Field Safety employees.
- Audit jobsites for compliance with environmental, health and safety regulations, policies and procedures.
- Work as a liaison with owner/operator safety departments to solve customer issues.
- Advise superintendents and supervisors with safety related concerns to better protect employees at all levels.
- Development of EHS policies and procedures.
- Ensure Incident Reporting Procedures are being followed.
- Administer on-site safety inspections and associated documentation for all active job site locations.
- Enforce the safety objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within the boundaries of the company Safety Manual, OSHA requirements, and customer requirements.
- Review and make recommendations regarding company policies and procedures relating to safety issues.
- Participate in and conduct Incident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis.
- Attend national and customer related safety summits/conferences.
- Hold all employees accountable for following safety rules/regulations/policies/procedures.
- Establish training needs and resources.
- Assist with third party trainings.
- Maintain and evaluate Operator Qualifications for field employees.
- Collaborate closely with Superintendents, Safety Department, Division Managers, Project Managers, Human Resources and Owner/Operators to foster our safety culture.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in EHS management, construction field preferred.
- Bilingual (Spanish) speaking abilities preferred.
- Four-year degree in Safety, Environmental, Industrial Hygiene or related field.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret policies, procedures, regulations, and other compliance related materials.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
- Effective interpersonal relations and conflict resolution skills, in addition to effective oral and written communications skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive issues or information.
- Ability to work in fast paced, time sensitive environment and have excellent organizational and follow-through skills. High sense of urgency required.
- BCSP certification preferred. (ASP, CSP or CHST).
- OSHA 500, SafeLand, First Aid – CPR/AED Trainer and VeriForce Evaluator preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to create PowerPoint Trainings.
- Must be able to communicate effectively to large crowds and in crucial conversations.
