What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Painter position at Bi-Con Services?
Overview
Provide Sand blasting and painting services as required on pipe, structural steel, etc.
Responsibilities
- Participate in daily huddle and safety meetings.
- Mask off all openings in pipe to be blasted and coated.
- Sand blast pipe, vessels, structural steel, etc. to required finish per customer specifications.
- Perform periodic maintenance on the sand blast booth per manufacturer requirements.
- Load new sand into the system. Remove full barrels of depleted blast media.
- Clean up sand blast booth on a daily basis.
- Mix paint to manufacturer specifications.
- Apply paint and coatings per manufacturer and owner specifications, ensuring the minimum required millage is achieved.
- Sand runs and touch up light spots in the coating as identified. Inspect all work thoroughly before proceeding to next task.
- Take all necessary test readings and record findings as required per manufacturer and owner specifications.
- Dispose of unused paint on a daily basis; never leave any unused product.
- Clean up mix room and paint areas daily.
- Remove and reinstall wall coverings, booth filters, floor coverings on a scheduled basis as directed.
- Clean paint equipment as needed multiple times per day.
- Operate overhead cranes and forklifts.
- Laborer duties as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Work will involve blasting and painting in a booth setting.
- Must be able to work with all required safety and personal protective equipment to include- forced air hood, respirator, face shield, safety glasses, paper coveralls, etc.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Follow all safety rules.
- Ability to work as part of a team to achieve common goals.
- Ability to work any schedule assigned, including weekends and overtime when necessary.
- Strong work ethic, high integrity along with a professional appearance and demeanor.
