What are the responsibilities and job description for the PRESCHOOL TEACHER ASSISTANT position at Bi-County Community Action Programs, Inc.?
- You are a great communicator: you can discuss a child’s needs with parents and colleagues. You are able to communicate well with preschool-aged children.
- You respond with patience and are able to work with children with different abilities.
- You’re creative, you can plan lessons that engage young children, and you can adapt lessons for different learning styles.
- You’re organized with lesson plans and data. You have strong computer skills.
- You will help teach preschoolers in a classroom setting and building positive relationships with children and families.
- You’ll have input in developing the learning environment and assisting in the classroom with activities.
- You will work collaboratively with other classroom staff in our Bemidji Head Start Center.
- If you have a high school diploma or GED, you’ll need to earn your CDA credential or state-awarded certificate during your first two years with us. We’ll pay for it and help you do it.
- If you have one of these certifications, an Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, you’re already qualified.

- Applicants must pass a DHS Background Study and meet DHS & MN Rule 3 licensing requirements.

- Full-time, 40 hours/week, 10-month school year, wages: No CDA: $15.42/hr - $21.59/hr; with CDA: $16.49/hr - $23.08/hr, depending on qualifications, with benefits during the school year.
