What are the responsibilities and job description for the JV Girls Volleyball Coach Fall 2025 position at Bi-Cultural Hebrew Academy?
Bi-Cultural Hebrew Academy is seeking a passionate, enthusiastic High School JV Volleyball Coach to help build up our program by maximizing potential and empowering confidence within our student-athletes. Bi-Cultural Hebrew Academy, a Prekindergarten – Grade 12 independent school, is a vibrant and dynamic environment in which to work located in Stamford, CT. The High School JV Volleyball Coach will work with the Athletic Director to help develop our student-athletes and develop the overall skill of our volleyball program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Minimum 2 practices a week during the Fall season, 8 - 10 games
In charge of running JV practices/ training sessions
Coordinate with athletic director on overall improvement of the high school program
Teach volleyball techniques, playing rules, strategies and playing tactics
Condition athletes appropriately for activities requiring endurance, strength and agility
Teach sportsmanship, cooperation, work ethic and responsibility to one’s team
Communicate openly with parents of players
Help as needed with equipment management
Assist in setting up/taking down the gym for home matches
Build strong, lasting relationships with athletes, inspiring them to hold themselves to a high standard of academics and character
Uphold and model the core values of the athletic department: Commitment, Pride,
Sacrifice, Work Ethic, and Respect
Demonstrate good sportsmanship and maintain appropriate conduct towards the
student-athletes, opposing team, officials, spectators, etc.
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Previous head coaching experience at the high school level
A sound knowledge in volleyball techniques, playing rules, strategies and playing tactics. Ability to teach the fundamentals, passing, hitting, serving and etc
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate flexibility, and work autonomously and as part of a team to achieve goals.
A leader with extraordinarily high expectations of her/himself and the ability to inspire and motivate others.
A genuine care for working with kids and motivating them
Reports To: Athletic Director
Compensation: Stipend Position
Fall 2025 Season, end of August to end of October
