We are currently seeking a part-time Special Education teacher, with a focus on Executive Functioning, in our upper school division. They will be expected to plan and differentiate materials to support students' learning needs and build executive functioning skills to better prepare them for the rigors of high school and beyond. The ideal candidate would also support action plan compliance maintenance including annual and triennial follow-ups with families and facilitating new inquiries and evaluations.
Experience and Preferred Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in secondary special education or a related field; advanced degree(s) preferable, not required;
Teaching certification, preferable;
Experience working with students who need help with Executive Functioning;
Experience working with upper school students with specific learning needs;
A solid understanding of child development, varied learning styles, and effective strategies for dealing with such differences;
Well-developed, effective classroom management skills;
Knowledge of federal and state laws related to education compliance;
Patience, flexibility, and a sense of humor;
Strong organization skills;
Excellent communication skills - verbal and written;
Works well in a collaborative model with other administrators, teachers, and parents;
Experience with integrating technology into the classroom;
Ability to engage and inspire students, parents, and families.
Compensation :
