Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented and innovative Co-Op to join our Biotherapeutics Department located at our Fort Worth, TX facility. The Antibody Discovery Co-Op will be instrumental in learning and working in a lab that does antibody discovery using yeast display to target cancer-specific peptide-HLA complexes. The ideal candidate will also have the opportunity to learn about the drug discovery process and interact with global teams at Boehringer-Ingelheim

Duties & Responsibilities
- Generate media and buffers necessary for yeast growth, cell staining, inclusion body purification, and antigen production
- Grow and stain yeast displaying antibody fragments
- Grow bacteria for inclusion body purification
- Build yeast display libraries
- Assist scientists in the lab
Requirements
- Student must be enrolled at a college or university for the duration of the internship
- Overall cumulative minimum GPA from last completed quarter/semester 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) preferred
- Major or minor in related field of internship
- Undergraduate students must have completed at least 12 credit hours at current college or university
- Graduate and advanced degree students must have completed at least 9 credit hours at current college or university
- Prior lab experience
- Experience in molecular biology, including PCR, is preferred
- Highly motivated and willing to learn
- Ability to work both independently and in a team setting
- Good communication skills
- Willing to spend majority of time in the lab
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
- Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)
- Must be 18 years of age or older
