The Market Inventory Specialist is responsible for creating an inspiring experience for our guests. They give outstanding service by meeting and exceeding our guests’ expectations and providing excellent internal service to the team. Their responsibilities include assisting in the smooth and seamless operations of the business, reaching store goals, upholding product quality and consistency standards, controlling inventory levels and mitigating waste, maintaining equipment and facilities, and safely handling all of our products and equipment. The Market Inventory Specialist is responsible for creating an inspiring experience for our guests. Responsibilities
- Welcomes guests, provides expertise and assistance in the Market Inventory Control department.
- Responsible for physically and electronically receiving all products associated with grocery staples, grocery specialty and bulk categories; other categories as assigned.
- Works collaboratively with grocery stockers to maintain beautiful and bountiful displays. Keeps the department displays neat, clean, accurately labeled, and well-stocked.
- Responsible for maintaining organized and accurate inventory levels including cycle counting, processing inventory adjustments and updating shelf labels with pricing.
- Puts away inventory in timely fashion, paying close attention to proper rotation, handling perishable items safely, and restocking high-volume products quickly.
- Handles damaged, out-of-date, spoils, and returned products to department standards.

- Two years purchasing or related experience.
- Required proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Excellent written, phone, and communication skills.
- Fluency in the English language, spoken and written.
- Ability to manage a budget and identify cost effective solutions/options.
- Experience working in a cross-functional team.
- Solid math and computer skills, able to keep large amounts of data and information organized.
- ServSafe Certification, California Food Handler card is required within 30 days post-hire. Bi-Rite provides on-site paid training and certification.
