We work a hybrid model (3 days in the office and 2 days work from home); this position is located in our Minneapolis Metro headquarters.
Our Event Solutions Purchasing (travel) team is seeking an experienced Industry Relations Director. This is an individual contributor role.
- Manage all aspects of destination management company (DMC) partner program, including onboarding new partners, managing performance, negotiating agreements, resolving complex issues, creating master service agreements, obtaining certificates of insurance and maintaining preferred-partners list for internal reference
- Conduct secondary review of all DMC contracts to ensure BIW business and legal clauses are consistent with BIW preferred terms
- Work with BIW Accounting on DMC financial performance and reporting
- Participate in Solution Design Meetings, acting as a destination subject matter expert and consult on recommended hotels/cruises and destination partners, for each opportunity
- Act as a mentor and consultant to Design and Delivery Managers regarding supplier issues, and serve as a resource for the selection, recommendation and booking of space for travel programs
- Liaise with BIW risk management regarding high-risk activities
- Review ancillary vendor contracts (i.e., speakers, décor, golf, AV)
- Liaise with BIW global offices regarding preferred partner usage
- Source and design select internal BIW meetings/incentives
- Lead business reviews with selected primary partners
- Manage/lead biweekly Industry Relations meeting, and actively attend in-office and virtual supplier presentations in order to gain knowledge
- Participate in and attend industry events, advisory boards, etc.
- Act as back-up to VP-Industry Relations for hotel and cruise line partnerships and contract review

Education/Experience:
- BS/BA; highly desired
- Minimum seven years' experience in Travel/Purchasing/Hospitality Industry
- Knowledge of data privacy laws/requirements is a plus
Base Salary Range: $90,000 to $110,000. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant's background, experience, and skills.
