JOB SUMMARY
This position performs a variety of responsible and complex technical and administrative duties relating to School Nutrition personnel functions and operations, including in the areas of employment recruitment, compensation, testing, hiring, etc.; provides information and assistance to School Nutrition employees and the general public regarding human resources/personnel processes, procedures, policies, and activities; performs a variety of tasks requiring specialized knowledge related to the area of School Nutrition and HR.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
- Greets the public, representing the District’s values and always providing exemplary customer service.
- Performs various responsible clerical, administrative, technical, and office support duties for the School Nutrition Department.
- Provides customer service in person, by email, and by telephone.
- Completes employment verifications that do not involve salary.
- Collaborates with the District’s HR Department to ensure process compliance.
- Maintains Position Control for positions in the School Nutrition Department.
- Enters all School Nutrition hires, transfers, and resignations in HRIS/Finance systems and collaborates with District HR to ensure account number updates in Position Control as needed.
- Ensures that all School Nutrition hires have completed fingerprinting, background checks, and onboarding checklists before beginning work.
- Processes personnel actions in HRIS.
- Monitors school/system vacancies and new hires in the database.
- Monitors the allotments and provides updates to the Executive Director of School Nutrition to ensure staying within the department budget.
- Compiles and prepares reports and documents pertaining to personnel activities.
- Assists with employment fairs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or State Approved High School Equivalency; Associate’s degree preferred. Two years of administrative and/or clerical experience. Experience in Human Resources and/or Personnel is preferred. Or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training that provides the required knowledge and abilities. and abilities.

- Knowledge of BCSD policies procedures, personnel, operations, employment requirements, course work, and training required for classified personnel.
- Knowledge of Human Resource data systems.
- Good human relations skills.
- Good decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Skill in using computers and software applications related to the job's essential functions.
- Ability to objectively analyze and recommend a variety of personnel actions.
- Ability to learn rapidly and retain information.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing in a pleasant, efficient, and courteous manner.
- Skill in using various types of office equipment (e.g., copier, fax, document scanner, multi-line telephone system, etc.).

Salary/Terms/Benefits:
- 239 day work year; 8 hours per day
- Salary: Grade 45: Hourly (placement on salary schedule based on years or experience). Up to ten (10) years allowed. The stated salary range reflects the opportunity for pay over the course of the employee’s tenure. For external candidates, the top pay is not a potential starting salary.
