Job Description
What is a warehouse order picker?
An order picker is defined as a person, or a piece of equipment used to pick and deliver material needed for filling orders from storage.
Job Summary
The Warehouse Picker team member is an integral part of BDCs order fulfillment process. The Warehouse Picker will retrieve all products from storage, prepare, and wrap items staging the items as instructed in the loading area and assist with loading of the outgoing trucks. This is a fast paced and physical environment that requires the worker to work in a constant state of alertness and be detail oriented.
Duties & Responsibilities
Some of your duties may include:
- Receive and put away inventory.
- Quickly and efficiently pull orders and prepare them for delivery.
- Load carts and pallets into trucks for delivery.
- Able to use provided scanners and other electronic devices ID and pull the correct product for each order.
- View prompts on screens and follow the direction for some tasks
- Troubleshoot problems
- Ensure product meets quality requirements
- Operate power industrial trucks (PIT) such as a forklift or pallet driver. Equipment training and certification are provided free of cost.
You will also need to be able to:
- Lift cases up to 25 lbs and move loaded hand carts or pallets up to 200 lbs
- Push utility carts or pallet up to 1500 lbs
- Stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach during shifts
- Use carts, dollies, hand trucks, and other gear to move items around
- Go up and down stairs (where applicable)
- Adhere to strict safety, quality, and fulfillment production standards
- Secure pallets and carts by wrapping them with shrink wrap
Qualifications for order picker
- Must be able to submit to background check and drug screenings
- RF Scan Gun experience a PLUS
- Must be available for overtime when needed.
