The Accountant / Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the financial activities of the organization, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. The successful candidate will also have excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with all levels of staff.

Duties Or Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Controller to coordinate and review financial information on a monthly and yearly basis while addressing and correcting errors in such a manner that reduces or prevents their occurrence in the future
- Supervising the monthly close process for the books and preparation of Financial Statements for review by Controller
- Maintain fixed assets schedules and prepaid accounts monthly
- Preparation of journal entries, inter-company entries and overhead allocation entries
- Assist with the yearend review and audit process with outside CPA firm
- Ability to train, develop, supervise and work with a team of bookkeepers and accountants
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize work assignments with competing priorities
- Analytical approach to problems with regard for detail and accuracy
- Provide financial analysis and support of various projects and decisions when needed
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and communicative skills
- Inventory reporting including manufacturing cost tracking and investigating inventory variances
- Bank Reconciliations for multiple companies
- Filing sales tax returns and various other reporting forms within multiple states and parishes
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- 2-5 years’ experience required
- Candidate must have Microsoft Word and Excel experience, excellent word processing, grammatical and proofreading skills, attention to detail and a solid understanding of spreadsheets, formulas, and analysis performed with Excel
- Inventory/Job Costing experience preferred
- Candidate must be proficient with the usage of ERP systems, Traverse and Sage100 preferred
