What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front Desk Bookkeeper position at Bickes, Inc.?
Bickes, Inc. is a family-owned business, and this position is in our home office in Decatur, IL, which supports 10 concrete burial vault manufacturing plants throughout Illinois, Indiana, Tennessee, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Arkansas. The family has been in the concrete burial vault business for over 110 years. We pride ourselves in providing the highest quality service and the best-manufactured vaults.
The ideal candidate for this position will be a self-starter, possess strong organizational skills, have a pleasant demeanor in person and on the phone, be proficient with MS Office programs, and have the ability to multi-task.
Varied responsibilities will include:
- Answer and direct calls
- Receive and sort incoming mail and deliveries
- Maintain checkbook balances
- Assist with entries into fleet management system
- Prepare assorted monthly reports
- Prepare monthly/ quarterly reconciliations on certain G/L accounts
- Review and maintain fixed asset listings
- Compile and review monthly inventory reports
- Other duties as needed
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills
- Basic accounting skills
- Computer skills and willingness to learn new programs
- Working knowledge of office equipment
- Excellent organizational and time management skills and ability to prioritize
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
