WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

As the QA/QC Technician specializing in drilling motor and tools parts inspection, your role is pivotal in upholding the reliability and safety of our equipment within the oil and gas service sector. You will meticulously scrutinize disassembled drilling motor components, utilizing precise measurement tools and inspection methods to discern wear, damage, or defects. Your discerning eye will guide decisions on part reusability, repair, or scrapping, and your commitment to quality assurance will ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations while safeguarding the operational excellence of our machinery. Your attention to detail and dedication to safety will be instrumental in maintaining the integrity of our equipment, contributing to the success of our operations.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION

  •  Job Conduct detailed visual inspections of disassembled drilling motor parts to assess their condition and integrity
  •  Utilize various inspection methods, including measurement tools and non-destructive testing, to detect wear, damage, or defects
  •  Ensure that all inspections adhere to quality standards, industry regulations, and company procedures
  •  Maintain accurate inspection records, documenting findings, and reporting any discrepancies or non-conformities
  •  Evaluate inspected parts to determine their suitability for reuse, repair, or refurbishment
  •  Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to make recommendations for parts that require refurbishment or scrapping
  •  Perform functional tests on parts, as applicable, to assess their operational performance
  •  Analyze test data and inspection results to make informed decisions on part disposition
  •  Prepare detailed inspection reports, including photographs and technical data, and communicate findings
  •  Maintain accurate records of inspection activities, results, and recommendations
  •  Ensure compliance with safety protocols and procedures during inspections to prevent accidents and injuries
  •  Stay current with industry regulations and best practices related to drilling motor parts inspection


EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  •  High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in QA/QC or related field is preferred
  •  Proven experience in quality assurance and quality control, with a focus on inspecting drilling motor parts or similar mechanical components
  •  Proficiency in using measurement tools, non-destructive testing equipment, and inspection techniques
  •  Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify wear, damage, and defects accurately
  •  Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  •  Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  •  Commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols
  •  Knowledge of industry regulations and standards is a plus
  •  Willingness to work in a hands-on, physically demanding environment


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  •  Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and components, up to 25 pounds 
  •  Ability to operate basic office equipment
  •  Sit and/or stand for long periods of time, up to 8-10 hours a day 
  •  Walk/travel to production areas while wearing appropriate Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), which at a minimum includes safety glasses but could also include steel toe shoes/boots and other PPE
